The Ankh Cross Symbol

The Ankh is the Egyptian mythological symbol for LIFE. It is said to have "brought about Life for the first time". For others the Ankh represents healing, fertility, rebirth and regeneration. The Ankh can represent strength with life giving qualities of water and air.

As the ancient Christians became aware of the symbol of the Ankh they noticed similarities to the Christian cross. It wasn't long after that the Ankh took on new meaning in the western world and became known as the "Cross of Life".

It is now very common to wear the ankh pendant as either a ancient Egyptian symbol for life or as a Christian cross.
