The Legend of the
Man in the Maze
There is a ancient Indian legend that says when a person is born
into this world, they enter a maze of life. The beginning is at the top
where Elder Brother is waiting to show the way.
The legend tells of the dead ends, detours and obstacles. The struggle to understand what can affect the physical, emotional, and spiritual growth that guides them through the maze.
If the path through the maze is traveled in harmony and balance with nature, the legend says that dreams will be found at the center of the maze, where Sun God waits. He then passes them on to the next world.
The Thunderbird
The Thunderbird is a fascinating native American symbol whose roots go
far back among many different tribes in many regions of North America.
The thunderbird according to Native American mythology is a powerful spirit in the form of a bird. Lightning strikes from the beak and thunder comes from the flap of its wings.
Petroglyph symbols depicting the thunderbird have been found as far north as Canada and across America. Interestingly enough, similar symbols have been found in Africa, Asia and Europe. Indeed, it has a rich legacy.
The Kokopelli
The Kokopelli is a hunchedback
dancing flute player. It is a symbol of fertility, replentishment,
music, dance and mischief. It represents well being and is said to bring
good fortune in hunting and the planting and growing of crops. The hump
in its back represents a bag of gifts.
The Lono Tiki
The Hawaiian Lono Tiki represents the God of
Luck and Protection. The Lono Tiki God helps to build good character,
is loving and kind, seeker of knowledge. He nurtures everyone.
